Randy Turner was born in Biloxi, MS and raised in Fort Payne, AL. There, he attended the Fort Payne City School System. As a high school freshman, Randy began singing in the Fort Payne High School Chorus. During his sophomore year, he got on board with four exceptionally talented young men in an acappella group called Dr. Bob and the Egyptian Fruit Bats. "I really found my love for music with The Fruit Bats. Those guys taught me a lot about what music was all about." The Fruit Bats enjoyed success in high school, but were forced to part ways when leaving for college. While in college, Randy sang with a few groups here and there. But, it wasn't until the birth of Focus in 2005 that Randy found his place in acappella music again. "Every time I get to sing with the members of Focus it makes my whole week good, good, good....!" Although Randy isn't a permanent member of Focus now because of Co-op work, he still enjoys singing with the group when he can. In Focus, Randy sings lead, baritone, and tenor. |
